Blu Betty is a proudly South African brand with the manufacture of their shoes taking place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. They strive for authenticity, quality and individuality in design and execution. Current trends, materials and technology often influence their striking design.
Blu Betty’s adventure with Brand Candy began in 2018. For the past two years, we have assisted and continue to assist the Blu Betty brand in tackling the following marketing efforts head-on:

SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGN AND REPORTING
Every month Blu Betty supplies us with their preferred content, for which we design Facebook and Instagram social media posts. It is imperative that the designs are authentic and classic to the Blu Betty brand.
Our favourite clients are hands on – and there are few who have as much involvement in their social media communities as Blu Betty. We supply them with a monthly report where we analyse their performance and statistics.
GOOGLE ADS AND REPORTING
Google Ads is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising platform.
On a monthly basis, Brand Candy manages the Blu Betty Google Ads account. Blu Betty allocates an objective and budget, and we manage the keywords, copywriting, and design of the campaigns. Blu Betty’s goal is to continuously increase online sales and return on investment.
Reporting turns data into manageable and usable information that we use to better the results from Google Ads. Blu Betty receives a custom monthly report measuring our marketing efforts and recommendations for further improvements.
Blu Betty approached us with a clear objective in mind, of wanting to restructure and style their existing website, with a strong focus on the following:
- A sophisticated design introducing vintage elements.
- A simplistic layout for exemplary user experience.
- A responsive website that renders well on a variety of devices.
- Develop a functional website back-end, that enables advanced reporting.
We achieved this by designing and developing a custom WordPress website for Blu Betty. This CMS (Content Management System) gave our client the functionality and personalised management they desired.
Key features of the website include:
- An accessible navigation bar at the top and left side of the website. This is an easy reference point for users to fully engage with all the content on the website.
- The shop page has a filter option (filter by price, filter by product categories and filter by product leather). This is a time-saving feature for a quick shop.
- A slide down search bar to ensure that users search intuitively and always find what they’re looking for.
- Parallax scrolling 3D effects.
- Professional and elegant design elements.
Overall, this was a collaborative project with Blu Betty, which resulted in a successfully functioning and responsive website that our client can be proud of. We continue to assist Blu Betty with the maintenance of their website.
Email Newsletter Templates
Brand Candy designed standard Mailchimp email newsletter templates. We aligned Blu Betty’s sophisticated website design with vintage elements to create a look and feel consistent with the brand image. Blu Betty manages their own newsletter, and populates the template with their latest news every month. We update the design whenever needed.
