What you’ll do:

We are looking for a Durban based Social Community Manager. The Social Media Community Manager will work closely with the Digital Specialists and Digital Head on the strategic planning of social media marketing campaigns. However, his/her main role is to communicate and provide support to the community members.

The Social Media Community Manager is the first point of contact within the social media community and strives to engage and provide support to members of the community. The Social Media Community Manager is required to monitor trends and topics mentioned by the community and has the ability to anticipate potential problems that may negatively affect brand reputation.

What you need to know:

  • Experience in digital marketing management (clients, campaign concepts, creation and management and budgeting)
  • Good knowledge of Google environment – Gmail, Docs, Spreadsheets
  • Understanding of all major social media platforms, plus good understanding of social
    media and community management best practices
  • Scheduling of all social media posts and ads for all clients, as instructed
  • Monitoring of all social media platforms for all clients, responding to simple enquiries and
    escalating complex enquiries
  • Weekly overview of all social media clients’ dashboards to ensure they are tracking well,
    with report back to the team where there are concerns or wins
  • Checking all scheduled social media posts and ads
    • Check spelling and grammar
    • Check for errors in links
    • Check that image attached is relevant/inoffensive/catchy
  • Reporting: All social media platforms
  • MailChimp, Google Ads and WordPress experience advantageous
  • Copywriting experience advantageous, otherwise an excellent command of written and
    spoken English
  • Agency experience advantageous

  • Taking ownership of your own workload and correctly allocating your available time each day, will allow you to consistently supply your work to your teammates and clients in a timeous manner.
